Most of my paintings are available or available in print at

Inspired by my Fall Trip to Gorgeous Rural  Pennsylvania

Since my last post I have been working on one Mary Cassatt painting and have finished a painting of a barn that I passed on the way to my daughter's home. This barn, I have to say, is my favorite painting. It is charming with a pond and swaying willow tree in front.I love the reflections in the pond.

I'm working on a painting of yet another barn I passed in Pennsylvania....I'll post it as soon as I'm done. It has an almost old fashioned quality to it. Also impressionistic....and also with a weeping willow tree...
This trip I noticed the beautiful fall landscapes covered with my next paintings will be of these gorgeous rural areas covered in golden yellow! I might have to do the goldenrod series. Well....back to my Mary Cassatt challenge!

Painting anything and everything...

All of my paintings and/or prints of my paintings are available on my website:

I have been painting anything and everything.......
.......except Mary Cassatt! ...I have been so busy painting ...I keep getting side tracked from my mission here. I was just at the MET the other day and I am now more inspired than ever to continue my Mary Cassatt Challenge after looking at those larger than life Mary Cassatt's.  It is so easy to get side tracked by other projects. My trips to my daughter's home in Pennsylvania  has brought me to several subjects. Here is a painting I did entitled "In The Pear Orchard". I went organic pear picking in this beautiful orchard with my daughter. In this painting I am shown with 3 year old Jack sharing the duties of pear picking. I am actually presenting him with a beautiful pear.

My last trip brought me face to face with the most beautiful country barn almost entirely covered with an old willow tree. In front of that is a pond...what more could you ask for....There were even purple mountains in the background. Can you blame me for being side tracked and forgetting this challenge! It was just a painting waiting to happen. So that is what is currently on my easel.

I am interchanging that with a painting of the flowers my son bought me for Mother's Day.
Here is one of my latest paintings This is a still life of my candelabra and Challah board. The beautiful reflection I saw in the board once I lit the candles was magnificent.

Here is one last look at what I have been working on. This one is also a product of my trips to my daughters farm:

These cows actually posed for me! It was so much fun painting them...

I mentioned earlier in my blogging that I had past a very distressed hotel on the way to my daughter's house in rural Pennsylvania. I finally was able to find a way to stop the car on the very curvy road and take photos of it. I like to paint distressed building and this one was extremely distressed! ..some windows were broken...paint chipped, the whole nine yards! so here it is:I did a lot of palette knife chipping away which is easier to see in person...I love that effect.

                                          "Chinese Dresses" by Aleezah Selinger

I haven't blogged for quite a while now. I guess that's how it is when you paint....I have been very busy. I actually painted only 1 more painting for the Mary Cassatt Challenge and have not posted it yet. I have painted several lately. One of my latest is called Chinese Dresses. I was on vacation in Toronto, Canada and we visited a strictly Chinese mall. I walked past one shop window and had to paint it. I love Chinese dresses. I think they are beautiful. here it is. I went very abstract with this one and enjoyed it~

Little Girl in Blue Armchair

Here is my progress on this print so far. I became so involved in painting this that I forgot to post my progress! I'm really almost done. Actually it looks as though it is done but I am sure there is a little bit of fine tuning I can do....
